Position Overview:

The Manager of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships is responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies and developing/managing strategic relationships to drive brand growth and business development opportunities for the foundation. This role requires a combination of marketing acumen and relationship-building skills to forge partnerships that align with our business objectives and enhance our market position as an impact-driven public charity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Marketing Strategy and Development:
    • Work with Chief Marketing Officer to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to drive brand awareness, donor engagement, and support overall fundraising and business development efforts.
    • Identify marketing and non-profit/fundraising industry trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning for NFCR and partners to assist in the strategic growth of the organization.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to design marketing materials and campaigns, through an internal marcom agency model to provide support, guidance, and measurable results tracking across all business units of NFCR and partner organizations.
    • Project management of key priority marcom initiatives and collaboration across internal teams, and external partners, to ensure deadlines are maintained and efficient project communications is achieved between all team members.
  2. Strategic Partnership and Alliances Outreach:
    • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships and alliances that align with NFCR and partner strategic priorities to support growth initiatives.
    • Conduct outreach efforts to new business partners and sponsors – calls, emails, in-person visits, social communications.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
    • Evaluate partnership performance and ROI, and adjust strategies as needed.
  3. Brand Management:
      • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing and partnership activities.
      • Work closely with internal teams to maintain brand integrity and alignment with business goals.
  1. Reporting and Analytics:
    • Prepare regular reports on marketing and partnership activities, including performance metrics, insights, and recommendations for improved execution of marcom and partnership efforts.
    • Utilize analytics tools to track key performance indicators and assess the impact of marketing strategies and partnerships against strategic goals.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or Life Science field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing, strategic partnerships, or business development.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies/campaigns and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel marketing, print and social media platforms, and analytics tools. Must have a proven track record of understanding how to use data to make effective marketing decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. PPT, Excel, Word) and marketing software (e.g., CRM systems such as Hubspot, SEM Rush, Google Analytics, Asana, Canva).
  • Ability to copyright and edit, from press releases to marketing materials, to research position papers and reports. Understanding of how to take a piece of writing from highly technical (scientific research) to laymen’s terms so that content is accessible to broad audience segments.
  • Marketing agency experience a plus. Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline driven marcom environment is a preferred attribute of the ideal candidate.
  • Experience working with a non-profit and understanding of the dynamics of donor centric relationships is essential for this position.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven leader who consistently demonstrates creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing marketing/communications professionals a plus.
