Highlighting NFCR Supported Research Scientists at the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting

At this year’s (2024) American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, from May 31st to June 4th, five outstanding research scientists funded by the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) will have their work featured. Some of the research being presented includes efforts to close the care gap and improve disparities in precision medicine therapies for metastatic breast cancer and enrollment in clinical trials.

With this year’s meeting theme of ‘The Art and Science of Cancer Care: From Comfort to Cure,’ NFCR is proud to fund and support the scientists whose work can lead to significant impacts on cancer research and lifesaving treatments.

NFCR Supported Scientists and Their Work Represented at the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting Include:

  1. Ritesh R. Kotecha

Dr. Ritesh R. Kotecha will be presenting his groundbreaking research during the Genitourinary Cancer—Kidney and Bladder session. His work focuses on innovative treatments for advanced-stage cancers, offering new hope for improved patient outcomes.

Dr. Aditya Bardia will be presenting his latest findings during the Breast Cancer – Metastatic session. His research explores advanced therapeutic strategies for breast cancer, aiming to improve treatment efficacy and patient survival rates.

  1. Himisha Beltran

Dr. Himisha Beltran will be updating her latest study results at the Lung Cancer—Non-Small Cell Local-Regional/Small Cell/Other Thoracic Cancers session. Her research focuses on advancing treatment options for thoracic cancers, aiming to enhance patient survival and quality of life.

  1. Jessica Lin

Dr. Jessica Lin will be a panelist in the Lung Cancer—Non-Small Cell Metastatic session. She will share her expertise and strategies to combat metastatic lung cancer.

  1. Massimo Cristofanilli

Dr. Massimo Cristofanilli has been dedicated to breast cancer research, focusing on closing the care gap and promoting treatment equity. His impactful work will be discussed during the meeting, and his contributions to this critical issue continue to influence the field and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
