National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) President & CEO Dr. Sujuan Ba was awarded the Inaugural Leadership Award for Global Advocate for Cancer Research at BIOHK2023 for her work as a global leader and advocate for cancer research. Ba has demonstrated time and time again her commitment to fostering international partnerships with other like-minded organizations and leaders working toward a similar goal as herself and NFCR – making cures possible for ALL cancer patients.

In addition to leading NFCR, Ba is the Co-Founder of the AIM-HI Accelerator Fund, and the Founder and CEO of the Asian Fund for Cancer Research (AFCR).

This esteemed honor, presented by Mr. Peter Nobel, Chairman of Nobel Sustainability Trust, recognizes outstanding individuals making significant advancements in global cancer care. BIOHK2023 is one of Asia’s largest international biotechnology conventions where policymakers, industry, academia, research, investment, and end users convene on behalf of cultivating biotechnology for the benefit of all.

In addition to this honor, Ba was recently invited to join our strategic partner the Global Coalition for Adaptive Research at the ringing of the Closing Bell at NASDAQ to raise awareness for Brain Tumor Awareness Month and her significant contributions made to help GBM AGILE succeed.

This year alone, under Dr. Ba’s leadership, NFCR has been nominated (for the second consecutive year) for the Moxie Award for Boldness in Business, recently undergone a brand identity realignment to position NFCR for its next 50 years of cancer research impact, and successfully launched our first ever Giving Day to engage (and expand) our donor base as we build our movement of supporters to make cures possible with NFCR.

On October 21, 2023, Ba will help lead our 3rd Annual Global Summit and Award Ceremonies for Cancer Research & Entrepreneurship. Thanks to her commitment to building a global network of collaborative researchers to study cancer from all angles, this meeting will bring together some of the brightest, most distinguished, and creative minds working on solutions to cure cancer. NFCR believes a world without cancer is possible, and we will continue to relentlessly pursue this goal. Events like our Global Summit help generate new ideas and new partnerships that we believe will one day result in a cure for all cancer.
