NFCR’s 2024 Day of Giving Highlights

We are delighted and proud to share the impactful results of NFCR’s 2024 Day of Giving! This special event, which took place from June 13th to the 14th, showcased the incredible dedication and community spirit of our supporters.

With a special focus on addressing the “Unmet Needs” in cancer research and patient care, we were heartened by the generosity and the collective effort of our ambassadors, donors, and NFCR staff. Overall, we received 272 gifts and raised $31,226, and these contributions are essential in advancing our mission to support groundbreaking cancer research.

A Heartfelt THANK YOU!

NFCR is inspired by the number of donors who joined us in this effort, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported this year’s Giving Day. Your active engagement and long-term commitment are always the key to making a significant impact in the journey of fighting for a cancer-free world.

Whether you shared our message on social media, told your network about NFCR, or made a donation, this achievement would not have been possible without your efforts. No matter your perspective joining this journey or the size of your gift, you truly played a much bigger role than you realize. Thank you for taking us closer to making cures possible for ALL!

Ambassadors Highlights

Here, we want to acknowledge and celebrate some of our outstanding Ambassadors whose exceptional dedication and engagement significantly contributed to the success of this Giving Day and inspired us all. Let’s take a look at why they are passionate about supporting cancer research:

“It was important for me to support the National Foundation for Cancer Research’s 2024 Day of Giving because of this year’s focus on unmet needs in cancer research and patient care. When I was diagnosed with a highly aggressive form of breast cancer two years ago, I was relieved to learn there was a chemotherapy drug that specifically targeted my HER2+ cancer cells. After one year of treatment, I went from Stage 2B to being completely cancer-free. Not everyone I know, or have known, with cancer has been so fortunate. We have made so many amazing breakthroughs in treatment, detection, and prevention, but there is still so much more we can do to keep saving lives. I will continue to champion the work of NFCR and the “high-risk, high-impact” research they fund that helps make cures possible for all.”

Hope Stewart, Cancer Survivor

“I am deeply honored to support NFCR’s 2024 Day of Giving and humbled by the generosity shown by our community. The focus on unmet needs in cancer research and patient care is critical, and I believe in the transformative power of the high-risk, high-impact research funded by NFCR. We are making significant strides towards a cancer-free world and bringing hope to countless lives affected by this disease. I am grateful to everyone who joined me in supporting this mission.”

“The reason why I wanted to support cancer research was so that I could give back and help a community that has been afflicted by such a horrible and devastating disease. I see many friends and family have themselves or someone they know contract cancer, but it doesn’t have to be a life sentence. With further funding for cancer research, hopefully, we can cure or find better ways to treat the disease, and I want to be a part of that process’.”

As an intern at the National Foundation for Cancer Research, participating in this event is a meaningful way to contribute to a cause that I see the impact of every day. Working alongside dedicated staff has shown me the importance of every dollar raised in funding groundbreaking studies and innovative treatments. Supporting this event allows me to be part of a collective effort to bring hope and healing to those affected by cancer.”
