Research(ers) in Action: ASCO 2023 Annual Meeting
Six distinguished researchers from the National Foundation for Cancer Research’s (NFCR) roster of supported scientists will have their work featured at the 2023 American Society of Clinical (ASCO) Annual Meeting this June.
NFCR is proud to have a few select fellows represented at this renowned meeting of the minds in cancer research. Their participation affirms our commitment to funding top leaders in cancer research, who are providing patients with solutions that could ultimately save their life.
The 2023 ASCO Annual Meeting is an opportunity to connect with one of the largest, most diverse audiences in global cancer care. All of the work featured this year supports the meeting theme of Partnering with Patients: The Cornerstone of Cancer Care and Research.

With support from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation, NFCR has broadened its Circulating Tumor Cell Research Program. In 2023 alone, we have provided resources to five new scientists working in this area, two of whom will present work at ASCO: Massimo Cristofanilli & Srinivas Viswanathan.
Additionally, NFCR’s 2022 Szent-Gyorgyi Prize Winner and long-time supported researcher, Rakesh K. Jain, will present his most recent findings.
Finally, rising star in lung cancer research, Jessica Lin’s work will also be featured at ASCO.

Following NFCR Researchers in Action
This feature is part of a series highlighting the achievements of the researchers funded by the National Foundation for Cancer Research and its supporters. Through recognition and collaboration among our supported scientists at industry events, NFCR’s visibility increases, as does highlighting the quality and impact of NFCR funded work. This is critical to our ability to raise funds to continue supporting the work of our researchers. When we raise more, we can help accelerate more research into the pipeline, with the end goal to reach patients’ bedside with cures to all cancers.
You can support leading researchers in the industry with NFCR – give today to be a part of the cure!
