Nancy Flood Cole
In Memoriam
1932–2017
It is with tremendous grief and sadness that we are mourning the loss of one of our original members of the National Foundation of Cancer Research Board of Advisors, Nancy Flood Cole. Nancy was beloved by our NFCR family and displayed a grace, elegance and Southern charm that made her a true friend to all.
Nancy truly believed in the importance of cancer research and was an active leader and fundraiser with Daffodils & Diamonds, an elegant luncheon, auction, and fashion show which brings together women from all around the Washington, DC area to support breast, ovarian, and lung cancer research programs. This annual event has supported NFCR for the past 12 years and has donated over $1 million to NFCR in support of funding game-changing scientific discoveries.
Nancy Flood Cole passed peacefully on September 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving daughter, Caroline, extended family and close friends. We will truly miss our Southern Star and promise to uphold her legacy and continue the fight against cancer until we find a cure.
Gifts in memory of Nancy and her passion for cancer research can be made by visiting nfcr.org/nancy.
